Nothing against Rilo Kiley (nice tunes) but c'mon. Ever hear "My Sweet Lord"?
This just shows how impossible it is to create new melodies in music. A composer buddy of mine in college would write something first, then research it for weeks before turning it in to his professors. It's all been done before. "My Sweet Lord" is musically similar to a song by The Chiffons called "He's So Fine" and as a result, Harrison had to pay a large chunk of money for "subconscious infringement".
Technically, it's a sample on Harrison's riff, but it's a bit much. Still a nice song (and Jenny Lewis is smokin').
