BOLT/NYC VISIT -- DAY TWO -- MORNINGNothing too interesting happened here.
BOLT/NYC VISIT -- DAY TWO -- AFTERNOONCaught a taxi over to 304 Hudson, went up to the seventh floor, and entered Bolt HQ.
Kit came out to greet us, then took us around making introductions. It is truly a strange feeling having people you've never met actually recognize you. After the hand-shaking and hellos we sat down and talked with Kit for awhile.
Soon it was time for lunch. During the meal I got to talk
Prince and
Betty for a bit, as well as answer some questions and give some of my thoughts and opinions about Bolt.
After lunch I got to observe the staff in their natural habitat. We met
Mike, and then sat down and talked with
Luke while he was working on the script for the
copyright PSA he and
Geoff wanted to shoot. While waiting on approval for the PSA script, Luke went through and approved/deleted some flagged content. This led to a little game of "Is This Porn?" that he and
Kate play. Geoff came over after a bit with a guy who looked oddly familiar, but that I couldn't place, till we were introduced...it was
Timur!
Leaving Luke, Geoff, and Timur to purge the porn, we went over to talk to
Steve, who was working on a spiffy upcoming Bolt contest/event. He hooked me up with a copy of his magazine,
Royal Flush, which was great for the plane ride home.
Around mid-afternoon some of the staff (Mike, Luke, Kate,
Lena, Kerry, Geoff, and Caron) were getting ready to go to a brainstorming, er, make that "beerstorming" meeting and invited myself, Alisha, and Timur to come along. I'm not exactly sure what the plan was, but we walk around for a bit, ended up in the middle of a busy street, then turned around and went to a pub. The pub is evidently the oldest in NYC and is inhabited by friendly spirits (which I guess could refer to ghosts or liquor, it being a pub and all). We went around the table and each gave our ideas for Bolt and discussed some of the bugs and changes we'd like to see. When finished we got a group photo (sans
Kerry, 'cause she had to leave early), and went back to the office.
Timur and Geoff then got the camera set-up to shoot the copyright infringement PSA, as Luke had received approval on his script. So, after a few takes, we got the PSA finished and it was about time for
Alisha and I to head out. We said goodbye, went outside, and flagged down a taxi back to the hotel.
BOLT/NYC VISIT -- DAY TWO -- NIGHTAlisha was feeling under the weather tonight, so I set out exploring alone. I wandered over to Times Square and ended up making several laps around it taking photos. Upon getting home I turned those 250 photos into a movie.
