Bolt is looking to hire its inaugural Financial Planning & Analysis (“FP&A”) Analyst. We are seeking an analytical problem-solver, who is capable of both highly-detailed financial analysis and distilling complex problems into actionable insights. This role will be directly responsible for delivering department-level financial insights, helping to prepare Bolt’s month-end financial close process, and implementing and monitoring key aspects of the budget and spend processes. 

Reporting into Strategic Finance, this role will work closely with the VP of Finance and have significant cross-functional exposure. The ideal candidate is a strong contributor, detail-oriented, and a highly adept communicator. What you'll be doing

  • Monthly Close Process: Develop content for monthly financial close process, including budget vs. actuals performance by department, and deliver insights on key in-period spend and projected future activity
  • Forecasting: Support the development of Bolt’s annual and multi-year financial forecasts and incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders into financial planning
  • Financial Reporting: Help support the development of and work to enhance all aspects of the Company’s financial reporting efforts including budget reports, variance analyses, and ROI analyses to track performance against the plan and identify trends 
  • Sales Finance: Serve as a key partner and liaison for the Finance organization to the Sales and Revenue Operations teams for sales forecasting, deal negotiations with vendors and partners, and sales commissions review
  • Strategic Financial Partner: Serve as Finance’s strategic partner to each of Bolt’s departments and assist functional leaders with analysis on spend, strategic planning activities, and enhancing operational efficiency
  • Board Management: Help prepare financial results, insights, and analyses for recurring and ad hoc requests to Bolt’s board of directors
  • Department Level Budgets: Partner with department leaders to build forecasts, understand priorities, construct financial budgets, track functional spend, and develop 
  • KPIsStrategic Planning: Own and manage ad hoc / strategic projects to support senior management and business initiatives based on operational performance
  • Investor Relations: Prepare recurring financial updates for for Bolt investors and provide support for any inquiries on an as needed basis
  • Contracts Tracking: Manage and track contracts to assist with OpEx planning for significant general ledger items and managing cash outlay vs. accrual-based reporting

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience in an FP&A role
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or another relevant field
  • Prior experience at a high-growth FinTech or Software company strongly preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Office / G Suite skills: Excel / Sheets and PowerPoint / Slides
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and attention to detail
  • Proficiency budget creation, tracking, and reporting
  • Strong financial modeling and quantitative analysis skills
  • Bonus Experience: NetSuite, Looker, and SFDC
