Learning & Development Lead

Your Role at Bolt

Bolt is looking to hire its first learning and development lead. You will be responsible for our L&D program across the business from strategy to design and execution. We’re looking for someone with experience in L&D who is creative, energetic, organized, and adept at building out foundational programs for growing companies. The ideal candidate also has general experience in HR and can take on other people ops projects as well. 


  • Responsible for the full life cycle of training programs including needs analysis, planning, design/development, and training delivery to the team. Some examples of current needs are training for managers (new & existing), remote work, and return to office safety
  • Consult with business units to assess learning needs including scope; identify and propose appropriate delivery methods for new and existing training programs; deliver training programs to the team in a way that meets the learning needs
  • Design and deliver learning programs that are effective, engaging, and outcome oriented
  • Review individual and organizational development needs and create programs to tailor learning at all levels in the organization
  • Monitor the success of development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities
  • Partner with HRBP (HR Business Partner) to help managers to develop their team members through career pathing - provide templates for career pathing, consult with HRBP & managers on their teams career pathing, and help any individuals who need advice on how to achieve their career goals
  • Organize e-learning courses, workshops and other trainings as needed to satisfy learning needs
  • Contract with external firms for training including evaluating best providers, negotiating contracts, and successfully onboarding and managing vendors
  • Assess and report results of training to focus on continuous improvement
  • Benchmark best practices and emerging trends to make recommendations on curriculum design, development, tools and technologies
  • Ideal candidate can also take on other People Ops projects as they arise


  • 2-3 years of experience working in development and training; 2-3 years of experience in people operations, HR, or general operations experience
  • Experience with effective learning and development methods
  • Experience in project management and budgeting
  • Good knowledge of e-learning platforms and practices
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into strategic initiatives and drive them to successful outcomes
  • Well-versed in training, talent and development subject matter
  • Bonus qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Business٫ Psychology or other related area, certification such as CPLP
