Your Role at Bolt

We're looking for a Content Marketing Associate to help us develop stellar content for the ecommerce community. Our Content Marketing Associate will own multiple projects on our editorial calendar, and ship a number of different types of content spanning from blog posts to podcasts to video scripts. Our ideal Content Marketing candidate has 2-3+ years of experience in PR or journalism and is comfortable writing about technical content without jargon or complexity.

You'll...

  • Create engaging written materials, including messaging, press releases, articles, blog posts, and FAQs
  • Research a variety of topics in the ecommerce / risk / identity space
  • Quickly become a subject matter expert in ecommerce-related topics
  • Structure and implement marketing tests to drive optimization (e.g., test creative, copy, audience segments, etc.)
  • Brainstorm creative content strategies and projects, across different channels and forms of media
  • Develop compelling stories around new product initiatives as well as major company launches
  • Be a consistent voice for the Bolt brand and ensure the highest standards of copy

Requirements...

  • 2+ years of experience at an agency, PR firm, or in journalism
  • Comfort writing about technical content  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, move projects forward independently, and communicate internally across many stakeholders
  • Passion for innovation, technology, and payments
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves and get things done

Be 20% Wrong

As a startup, speed is extremely important. The quicker we move, the more mistakes we make. If we are making no mistakes, it means, quite simply, that we’re not moving fast enough. Therefore, a 20% error rate is, not only permissible, but expected. If you’re not wrong 20% of the time, you’re not moving fast or ambitious enough.

Be Fearless

Fear is the primary motivator of human action. It drives people to cherish safety and complacency, coupled with an aversion to risk and change. Chase 10X, Not 10%

The only way a startup with 10s of people can outcompete corporations with 1000s is by leveraging its force multipliers of nimbleness, talent, and creativity. Large corporations focus on 10% optimizations to generate millions in revenue. They cannot evoke major changes without years of preparation. As a startup, we don’t have that luxury… it also does not make economic sense to optimize something that’s very small. There are always more incremental features to build. There are always more incremental people to hire. But, from product to people, we must consistently chase 10X opportunities and force multipliers.
