Your Role at Bolt

We built Bolt because e-commerce infrastructure on the internet is fragmented and broken. Our platform provides a world-class buying experience to all online businesses by eliminating the massive operational overhead and technical debt associated with online checkout and payments.  We enable customers to buy instantly and securely across the internet. To solve such an enormous problem, we’ve put together an incredible team and are selectively adding to it.

We view customer education as the key to scaling customer success. Your ability to unlock your team’s strengths to build best-in-class learning experiences will empower merchants with the knowledge and confidence to run successful businesses using Bolt. You’ll also provide enormous leverage to our customer-facing teams, enabling them to share consistent information about our product functionality and value proposition at scale.

You’ll thrive in this role if you’re excited about building and maintaining an ever-evolving content ecosystem; love finding new ways to present content to learners, and are motivated by a desire to empower others with expertise.


  • Build a team to launch and grow Bolt’s customer education ecosystem
  • Develop and maintain Bolt’s customer-facing knowledge base & help guides
  • Create new user training programs to enable smooth merchant on-boarding
  • Design & deliver webinars to share business best practices with Bolt merchants
  • Partner with Bolt’s product and engineering teams to maintain content we release new features
  • Work closely with Bolt’s support & customer success teams to ensure that content is relevant and accessible to merchants


  • 2+ years experience in customer education roles at a software company
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Outstanding ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to develop content
  • Experience designing self-service educational content
  • Experience with platforms such as learning management systems, content management systems, knowledge bases, and webinar tools
  • Experience in eCommerce [bonus]

Be 20% Wrong

As a startup, speed is extremely important. The quicker we move, the more mistakes we make. If we are making no mistakes, it means, quite simply, that we’re not moving fast enough. Therefore, a 20% error rate is, not only permissible, but expected. If you’re not wrong 20% of the time, you’re not moving fast or ambitious enough.

Be Fearless

Fear is the primary motivator of human action. It drives people to cherish safety and complacency, coupled with an aversion to risk and change. However, it’s risk and change that advances the human race. Extreme risk and change is required to disrupt the digital commerce space as we know it. The outside world can’t possibly have the same knowledge that we have within our company walls. While we’re being called crazy, we must be fearless and driven by our internal conviction.

Chase 10X, Not 10%

The only way a startup with 10s of people can outcompete corporations with 1000s is by leveraging its force multipliers of nimbleness, talent, and creativity. Large corporations focus on 10% optimizations to generate millions in revenue. They cannot evoke major changes without years of preparation. As a startup, we don’t have that luxury… it also does not make economic sense to optimize something that’s very small. There are always more incremental features to build. There are always more incremental people to hire. But, from product to people, we must consistently chase 10X opportunities and force multipliers.

All or Nothing

All or Nothing is the guiding philosophy for our decisions. Starting with why we work at Bolt, it is, quite simply, because we’re obsessed. We’re not here to advance our professional careers or for a financial outcome. We’re here because we’re obsessed with changing the world and becoming the best versions of ourselves.
